Different Types of Applications

For Winter Protection

    • You may spray Wilt-Pruf anytime as long as spray does not freeze on foliage while spraying and you are able to let it dry for 3 to 4 hours after spraying
    • Use a 1:5 dilution rate
    • Spray on arborvitae, cypress, junipers, and cedars in late fall when plant moisture in these species has retreated to the root system for the winter
    • One application should last 3 to 4 months

For Drought and Windburn Protection

    • Spray once each season at a dilution rate of 1:10

For Transplanting

    • For spring, summer, and fall transplanting water thoroughly before applying Wilt-Pruf
    • Apply Wilt-Pruf at a dilution rate of 1:10
    • It is best to spray a few hours before digging, or if necessary, just after transplanting

For Christmas Tree Protection

    • To keep trees, wreaths, and greens from drying out, turning brown, and dropping needles, spray at a dilution rate of 1:10 outdoors
    • Let sprayed items dry outdoors in daylight (not necessarily sunlight) for 3 to 4 hours before bringing indoors

For Transport

    • To guard against windburn and dry-out while transporting trees, plants, and shrubs, spray at a dilution rate of 1:10 and allow 3 to 4 hour of drying time before loading

Cleaning and Storage

For Storage Protection

    • Tubers and bulbs can be sprayed or dipped in Wilt-Pruf at a dilution rate of 1:10
    • Allow to dry outside before putting in storage

Washing

    • Clean surfaces sprayed in error with warm water and detergent immediately after use
    • Dried film may be dissolved with kerosene, but it may be best to let the film oxidize and disappear naturally
    • Always flush sprayers thoroughly immediately after use, do not store Wilt-Pruf in sprayer (exception is our RTU bottle)
